Izbe was founded around a simple observation: researchers are constantly imagining tools that don’t exist yet.
A new experiment may require a custom sensor, an automated system, a specialized mechanical device, or an entirely new piece of research equipment. The scientific idea may be clear, but turning that idea into something that can actually be built, tested, and used is often a much bigger challenge.
That gap is where Izbe began.
Our roots are in academic research, where we saw firsthand how often scientific progress depends on solving engineering problems along the way. Researchers are experts in their science, but they may not have ready access to the combination of mechanical design, electronics, controls, fabrication, and prototyping needed to transform an idea into a functional tool.
